“Suddenly, a great company of the heaven host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men to whom his favor rests'”. Luke 2:13-14.
Yes, that’s right! The Word became flesh in the form of an infant boy. The shepherds hurriedly searched and found the baby.
The Old Testament prophesized about the coming of a King, but in the form of a baby? Whatever God wills, it happens. The shepherds found the baby and worshipped him. We as humans cannot understand how this all happened. All we know is that God came to us in the flesh, to live, rejoice, suffer, and love with us, and to teach us His Way.
This is “the God who is so for us that He can’t stay away from us. The God who loves us and likes us and isn’t merely 50 percent or 72.3 percent for us, but the God who is always, unequivocally, 100 percent for us-the God who so likes us, the God who is so for us that He is the God who chooses to be with us.”(Ann Voskamp)
“The meaning of Advent and Christmas is thus the coming down of God’s love”(Philip Britts). Let’s not ponder too much on this divine wonderment, for it is full of so much love. We can’t possibly fully comprehend this perfect love.
Rather, praise God! God is with us! How wondrous!
Thank you, thank you dear God in heaven, for sending the Word as flesh to live with us in Your glory. Amen.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story! Merry Christmas and all the best in 2022 to you and Mike!
