“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them(Matt. 18:20). Jesus’ words ring out to us in the present. We may not be maneuvering in the world like “normal”, but He is our constant companion.
Throughout the Old Testament, people are searching for and following God. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt to follow God; the Babylonians spent decades trying to worship the Lord in their old way (Pr. Kevin Jones)
Then Jesus came along, making the claim as to where God is – we can find Him in Jesus. We can take Jesus and find Jesus with us everywhere we go. He is found in our postman, our doctor, our neighbor. He is found in our pastor, spouse, best friend, son, daughter, and grandchildren. To see the Lord, all we have to do is look around.
When we remember that whenever two or more are gathered in His name, there is love, we cannot fail. So, take a solid gander at the next person bagging up your groceries. Do you see love in their eyes? Do you see Jesus? Do you see God? The answer is a resounding YES!!!
The Lord is present all around us. Enjoy His blessed presence!
I like the call to notice where God is in those around us in our normal activities: “Take a solid gander at the next person bagging your groceries.” Thank you, Sarah, for reminding us to open our eyes to God’s presence in those we may even take for granted.
