Christmas in November?

While taking a shower today, I realized I was singing a Christmas tune–which led to getting some Christmas music out. What fun! Maybe it all happened because I finished a Christmas gift yesterday. and instead of waiting for the season, I decided to make my cousin happy a little early so I sent it to her. I told her that since I couldn’t give her a hug, it was my way of surrounding her with love. During this pandemic, we’ve had to amend the rules, change strategies, and find ways to be of service to the Lord. I guess this was my way of being of service.

In this life adventure of ours, our news streams information of the election and the virus, and catastrophes of all kinds. But our lives can still verge on being gleeful.

Jesus told the crowds “not to worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear…Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?…But seek first his kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matt. 6:25-34)

I’m working hard to not have such a worrisome attitude in the wake of everything going on. I’m attempting to diligently listen to the Lord, and to serve others as the Lord would want me to do. So for me, if Christmas music helps my attitude, why not? I hope everyone can find a way to serve the Lord in a gleeful manner.

Lord, help us all to worry less about the future and help us find novel ways to be of service to others. In Jesus name, Amen.
