God’s Comfort and Love

Sitting in my wicker chair at the front of my house this morning with a cup of coffee, I was overcome by the love of God.  His creation in my little part of the world is so full of beauty and love.  From my trusty dog to the cats, to the birds blissfully eating at our birdfeeders, my world is so full of peace, beauty, and love.

A far cry from the troubles of today’s world.  We’re struggling on so many issues, it seems.  Everywhere we turn there are real problems, large problems that take over our thoughts, encompass us with fear.  God is there to comfort us.

Isaiah 41: 9-10 says that, “I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you.  I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.  So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Yes, God will see us through all of this.  “Whatever you face today-illness, grief, lost work or overwork anxiety, loneliness, or something unrelated to the coronavirus-God hears your prayer and wraps you in love.” (Heidi Hyland Mann)

God brought us Jesus, who showed us that through love, everything is possible.  So, ease up on yourself a bit each day, soaking in God’s abiding love.

Lord, see us through the unknowns and comfort us through your undying love.  Amen.

Thanks, Sarah! I don’t know how people live without faith in God.
