I am blessed to live in the Midwest, where belief in the Lord is expected, the importance of family is still revered, farming is a blessed profession, and the residents are warm and always helpful. In these uncertain times, listen to this quote from Isaiah 41: 9-10:
“I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you, I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
This passage is uplifting: God has chosen you! In this adventure of life, amid a troubling pandemic, God will continue to strengthen and uphold us. Through all of our messes, the Lord stands steadfastly behind us.
We can look at Christ’s life and know that He is all about saving people and bringing us back to God. He will never abandon us or let us go. If we are presently overwhelmed, Pr. Dan Gerrietts suggested today in his sermon, to try closing your eyes and picture yourself in God’s house: somewhere loving, caring, somewhere where you can easily lay down your burdens, and just rest – rest in the presence of God and His love.
During this week, why not try that exercise – picture yourself in God’s house – feel His love envelop you. And be present. You were chosen by God: He is still there listening to you and will help you with all your struggles.
This pandemic has made everyone on edge, whether it is showing itself as anxiety, or depression, or wishing things could just be the way things used to be. The phrase that has become so common, “we’re all in this together”, is true. Let’s band together in
Christian love given to us through the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and live our new reality in the best way we can.
God has called YOU, and He will never abandon you. You and I are important! Thank you, Lord!
We Are Chosen ??Thank You Lord

Thanks, Barb. It’s always the right time to reach out towards His love. Perhaps we need it more at this time.

Wonderful message, Sarah. You are so right-we are called and God will never abandon us. He is always available to help, all we have to do is ask.

God is with us even when we are too fractured to ask for help. Thank you, Sue.
