Christ is Active in our world

These past few weeks, I have been the recipient of a lot of care.  Friends and family have really reached out:  from those that have brought us food, to the many calls, cards, and visits I’ve received.  Everyone seems to be trying to help us.  For the ever-important calls and visits from doctors, but especially, Lord, for the undying love and support I receive from my husband, I am so grateful.

The love of Christ has been so apparent to me-people joining together to assist me while I’m in need.  All this attention has reminded me of a quote from Teresa of Avila:   “Christ has no body now but yours.  No hands, no feet on earth but yours.  Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world.  Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good.  Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world.  Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body.  Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”

I have been so blessed these past few weeks to see Christ’s work in action; this time I have been the recipient of so much love.  Lord, thank you for your compassion and ever-present love.  Help us to see where we can be of service to others, doing your will and being your feet on this earth.  Amen.
