Christ’s Birth

As I wait for the birth of the Christ-child, I am readying for the festivities.  With my nativity scene resting in its usual place and cookies baking, I think of His wondrous birth.

Hope and love fill my heart as I am touched by the third verse of “O Come, All Ye Faithful”.  It reads like this:  “Yea, Lord we greet Thee, Born this happy morning, Jesus, to Thee be all glory giv’n.  Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing.  O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.”

Just as God desires our participation in His enfolding world, Jesus reaches out to us at Christmas as an infant.  God is with us-from a humble stable to a Teacher; a suffering servant that promises believers forgiveness and eternal life.

Immanuel, “God with us”.

Blessings to all this Christmas as we celebrate our Savior’s birth!
