Isaiah 9:6
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders, and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Whenever I read this passage, I hum the phrases from Handel’s “Messiah”. How powerful is this message!
The birth of Jesus is worthy of our greatest wonder; a child is born in a lowly manger that will change the world. On Christmas, we receive the greatest gift, and it is from God -the gift of Jesus Christ.
As we celebrate, let’s keep this wonder in the forefront of our minds. Lord, thank you for sending the gift of Jesus to us, the world’s Savior. Amen
